BMS & HVAC at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electrics

Improving Building Management and air conditioning systems at the Cambridge University’s Centre for Advanced Photonics & Electrics.

CPS

University of Cambridge Estates division sought to unify its Building Management Systems (BMS) and improve sustainability by introducing more efficient climate control equipment at the Centre for Advanced Photonics & Electrics building.

Solutions

CPS replaced 18-year-old VRF systems with 13 new split pipe air conditioning systems. This reduced carbon emissions and energy consumption, but by largely upgrading like-for-like minimised need to replace existing infrastructure (pipework, ducting, electrical cabling, etc.). The new Trend BMS system was environmentally sound, strictly complying with F-Gas regulations.
